Dear Friends and Family,
I have arrived safely in B and am staying with the McG family for the night, then driving through to N tomorrow morning.
Well, this being my first solo trip through the borders afforded some interesting experiences to say the least;
From being conned and losing a large amount of money at Beitbridge to leaving my wallet (with all cards, money, passports- the works!) in the bush where I went to relieve myself, to having a blow out whilst driving at night with about a ton loaded on the back and top, to nearly having the car topple over on me whist changing the wheel, to sleeping on the side of the road in the middle of no-where and getting cold inside the cab. (I recovered my wallet with everything inside - by the way)
I have averaged 3 hours sleep a night over the last 4 nights and been on some road somewhere for 57 hours since Thursday. I have made it here by the grace of God and 5 energy drinks and I am very grateful for the Lords keeping power and chastising love! And I am much better at handling border crossings now than when I began at Beitbridge.
Although this message covers mainly the difficulties I have encountered, there have been far more blessings and helps from the Lord in every part of my life and in so many way that I don’t know where to start, but I hope to give some account of them soon.
Thank you all for your prayers and help and the many gifts and blessings you showered on me on my departure back to Malawi.
It feels so nice to be back in this beautiful country now, feels like home.
In His grace and undeserving favour,
love to you all in Him.
Dave
